I’ve just bought PADI E-learning on the PADI Website. Can i learn to dive with you?
If you just bought the PADI E-learning, Great! go ahead and start learning!
If not, don’t buy it yet, read below and contact us first.
On https://divection.nl/agenda/ you can find the course schedules.
On https://divection.nl/courses/open-water-diver/ you get more information and enroll.
The discount you will get for not needing a book and certification cost is about 90 euro.
Email for the latest price.
PADI wants to make it’s elearning as valuable (price) as possible. The whole elearning takes about 15 hours.
A lot of our Amsterdam Customers are really busy / short on time.
A quicker way to learn theory is through reading the book (about 8 hours). At the moment the book is what we still use during our courses.
Each pool evening we start about an hour before we go into the pool. During this time we do dive briefings and cover theory.
Even if you completed E-learning, you cannot skip those sessions. There will however, be some repetition.
My son/daughter is 10 or 11 years old. Can he/she learn to dive?
Yes, PADI will allow us to teach 10 and 11 year olds.
Our regular classes are usually too late (ending a 22.30h) for young children.
Also our instructor to student ratio will drop to 1:4 with a maximum of 2x 10-11 year olds.
At this age we require a parent to be present at the pool during the dive.
Our students are 90% adults. Most kids 12-15 year old take the course together with their parents.
We try to arrange a couple of dedicated courses for young kids every year.
Usually during the may, summer and christmas holiday. Since we have to rent extra hours at the pool we need enough people and need you to enroll as early as possible.
Please contact us for more information and to be put on our “interested” list.
I could not finish my course abroad/got certified as a Scuba Diver. Can I complete the Open Water Diver course with you?
Yes, of course you can! Provided that it is less than a year ago.
The most efficient way is through a private or partially private course.
This way we can look at what you have already learned and done, and work from there.
As this option is more expensive it might not fit everyone’s budget.
Joining our group lessons is another option.
The continuity and quality of the PADI Open Water Diver course for our existing students is our priority.
Dive conditions in open water and the gear used is probably different from what you are used to.
For that reason our pool sessions are more thorough then abroad and also in a slightly different order.
Theory: please repeat what you have done so far, with self study.
Pool sessions: we want you to repeat one or more sessions, and continue from there.
Open Water Dives: We want you to start again from Dive one, this is good practice and will make you a better diver.
Best is to send us an email and explain your personal situation. Please add documentation of completed sections (PADI referral form)
Consider finishing your Open Water Diver course where you have started it. That is probalbly the most smooth option.
Can i rent a drysuit?
Or for example when we rent out drysuits to a film crew, we send someone along to help with putting the suits on and taking them off..
If a waterproof zipper is closed incorrectly it is difficult for us to spot any damage on return, but when this is done 10 times, it might start leaking and require a 250 euro zipper replacement.
Also diving with a drysuit without proper training can be dangerous, even potentially fatal.
